TRULY BEAUTY Products That Look too Good to ̶b̶e̶ ̶t̶r̶u̶e̶ Eat*

What looks like whipped cream, smells like buttercream, but isn’t edible? Various products from TRULY BEAUTY (obviously).

Over the last year or so, I’ve been seeing this brand pop up everywhere from the internet to Shoppers Drug Mart, and I finally caved to see what all the hype is about. For those unfamiliar, TRULY is a beauty and skincare brand based in Miami, Florida. Their skin treats are known for being vegan, clean af, and smelling too good to eat. And while I’m not vegan, myself, I do appreciate the lifestyle, and am always looking to support brands that are unique, cruelty-free, (harsh) chemical free, and stay TRUE to their word. From what I’ve researched, TRULY has demonstrated all of these things, so I figured I would get my hands on some of their products, quite literally. Here are some of the products that captured my attention (seen below).

COOKA OIL

Fun fact: when I first read the label of this oil, I thought it said “cookie” oil, which immediately caught my attention... Turns out it’s very much NOT “cookie” oil, and if you’ve read this far, you’ve probably figured out that it isn’t cooking oil either. No, this is in fact, COOKA Oil, but it isn’t made just for that. This is essentially an after-shave oil that can be used anywhere from the face to the feet (or wherever you prefer to shave). It smells of lemon and it contains lavender, primrose, jojoba, and tea-tree. These nourishing ingredients are said to help relieve razor burn and prevent ingrown hairs, which is a major plus, especially if you’re someone like me who hates having hair anywhere on their body, other than their head or brows (sorry if that’s TMI). Another plus is that it carries anti-microbial properties.

COCO CLOUD

This product looks and smells like whipped cream, but it’s actually whipped shave butter. I’ve been in need of a new shaving cream, so when I saw this, it obviously made sense to get it. Featured ingredients are vanilla, coconut milk, argan oil, white tea, and vitamin e.

VEGAN COLLAGEN BODY POLISH

This is the product that looks like whipped cream and smells like buttercream (as mentioned in the beginning of this post). It’s meant to be applied in the shower, then rinsed off, and it basically acts as an (after) body wash that nourishes and softens the skin. The texture is very similar to the Coco Cloud. as the Ingredients featured are vegan collagen, retinol, organic shea butter, and vitamin c. It is also said to have anti-aging properties.

VEGAN COLLAGEN BODY CREAM

When I saw that the body polish had a cream to go with it, I knew it was a match made in Heaven. I’m also just a sucker for skin tightening creams, especially now that I’m pregnant with my third and have stretch marks that need a little nourishing.

This cream carries the consistency of my mother’s daily ritual NIVEA cream, only it smells like cake. She would have loved this stuff. The ingredients in it are similar to the body polish, only the organic shea butter has been replaced with organic coconut, which also contains anti-aging properties.

Okay, that’s it (for now). And while these products have only just touched the surface of my skin, so far, I’m pleased! I’ll be sure to provide an update in the near future.
