Ceramic Lab Unboxing

For those who read my last post (or looked / got outside in Vancouver), you’ll know cherry blossom season is in full swing! However, today, I’ve decided to throw it back to the cozier rainy days and copious pours of hot Lavazza via a Ceramic Lab unboxing.

Let me elaborate... Ceramic Lab is a beautifully curated collection of modernized Japanese tableware made from sandstone. These pieces are created in Hasami by the company, KINTO Japan, and give a warm and inviting aesthetic to any living / dining space. As stated on their website, “The iron in the sandstone reacts with the glaze to create deep nuanced expressions.”

Today, I’ll be unboxing a KINTO coffee mug from this collection that was gifted to me by my husband during the Winter months. I’m only just getting around to posting about it now, because I’ve obviously been too busy sipping on lattes. In other words, making lattes and not being able to drink them while they are hot, because mom life. Speaking of which, I need a refill.

That’s better. Okay, let’s get into it.

First off, I want to admire the packaging. Simple, recyclable, and just enough room to fit the mug. Very much unlike every Amazon package that comes to the door (if you know, you know). And can we talk about the logo design? SO pretty! Love the delicate script and subtle boldness. Very harmonious to their collection. I also adore the print included on the bottom of the mug (photographed below).

Now for the actual product. As you can see, my husband chose the small (300 ml) blush pink and sand mug for me, and I couldn’t be more pleased with it! It’s not like he heard me yap about how a e s t h e t i c it looked and/or saw me eyeing it up every time we went to Welk’s General Store. Seriously though, it’s the perfect size for leaving lattes sitting out that will later need to be reheated. To clarify, this mug is NOT microwave safe, so any reheating will have to be done via stovetop (or carafe), then poured back into the mug. I’m not complaining. This mug makes literally anything / everything taste better, and on the rare occasion I do get to have a hot sip, I appreciate it even more. It’s the definition of a hug in a mug. Not to mention the texture is as smooth as I like my coffee, while providing a hearty, earthiness underneath. Oh, and to top it off, it matches the vast majority of my wardrobe (in case you didn’t notice).

Well, it’s about time to reheat my coffee and officially put away my Winter clothes. I hope you all enjoyed this post as much as I enjoy this mug! To view a rare sighting of me sipping my coffee while it’s still hot, be sure to check the latest on my IG @haveyour.c.a.k.e
