I don’t know about anyone else, but for me, the most difficult part about tidying up is not knowing where to start. I often feel the same way with writing something new… I can’t tell you how many times I tried to write this post, and to be honest, I still don’t really know where to begin. The very first book I ever read my son was “The Very Hungry Caterpillar”, which has been a family favourite since our first was born. And much like the very hungry caterpillar, himself, my son has been biting things non-stop, but not just because he’s hungry… Growing babies = growing teeth, and boy, have we had a journey with teething this time around… My girls never had a rough time with it (from what I can remember), but this poor little guy can’t catch a break. We’ve tried multiple teething toys and have had minimal luck. Don’t get me wrong, the counter pressure helps, but not long after most teethers are given, he resorts to throwing them on the floor (or out in the parking lot with LOTS of tears to follow). Needless to say, it was time to look for a pacifier clip…

This week, I decided to do some “Spring Cleaning” in my fridge, and in the process, discovered an unopened bag of mini eggs. While my stomach told me to run to the pantry (or any corner of the house where my kids can’t see me) and devour them in one sitting, my heart told me I should probably share them. Last night I set my alarm for 6:45am, so I could start my skin-care routine early. Next thing you know, daylight savings time kicks in and I find myself hitting the snooze button for an hour. It’s been just over a month since we brought our newest addition home (the baby, not the bag), and I’m suddenly feeling inspired to write my first post as a mother of 3…

Today’s post is going to be short and sweet (for once in my life). That’s because this particular recipe has already been posted on the blog under “Classic Vanilla Cake” and “Hand Whipped Vanilla Buttercream”. Only this time around, I doubled the ingredients to create four layers for my daughters’ birthday, and used a Kitchen Aid mixer to give my hands a break.
